The Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association (AOPA): the peak professional body responsible for regulating and representing approximately 500 certified orthotist/prosthetists to ensure the delivery of safe and effective O&P services in Australia.

Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC): the representative national organization for the O&P profession in Canada. Our role is to protect the public and advance the profession through quality standards of practice, professional credentialing, education and awareness.

South African Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (SAOPA): represents the O&P profession, including promoting the interests of the profession, improving training and professional status and promoting honourable practice, to ensure the public receives good, reliable and efficient orthoses and prostheses and services.

Prosthetics Orthotics Society Nepal (POS-Nepal): a non-profit making and non-political, genuine social organization, established in 2006. POS Nepal works to advocate the standard and quality O&P services in Nepal and build the capacity of O&P professionals in the country.

Orthotics and Prosthetics Association India (OPAI): the national professional association working for the development of the O&P profession and the empowerment of these professionals in India since 1979. OPAI aims to standardise O&P education and prostheses, orthoses and other assistive devices in close collaboration with Bureau of Indian Standards.

The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics, Inc. (ABC): a non-profit credentialing organization for orthotics, prosthetics and pedorthics representing more than 14,000 certified individuals and over 6,000 accredited facilities. ABC’s mission is to establish and advocate for the highest patient care and organizational standards in the provision of safe and effective orthotic, prosthetic and pedorthic services.

Uganda Association of Orthopaedic Technologists (UAOT): developed to unite all Ugandan orthopaedic technologists so as to promote modern, high quality O&P services to patients and regulate quality of training and service delivery in the country.

The National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE): the accrediting body for orthotic, prosthetic and pedorthic education programs including the clinical residency, in the United States of America. NCOPE is committed to enhancing the technical and clinical services delivered by students and residents today, and in their future practice.

Prosthetists and Orthotists Association of South Sudan (POASS): aims to promote and maintain high quality standard of clinical ethics, knowledge and skills in the field of O&P. POASS was established to unite and guide the quality of rehabilitation services in South Sudan and to promote professionalism and inclusivity in the field of physical rehabilitation.

The British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO): the UK professional body that represents the interests of O&P professionals and associate members, though engagement with their employers, allied health professional colleagues and all groups that are involved in the field of O&P. BAPO is supported by the majority of the profession through their membership of the association.

The Afghanistan National Society for Orthotics and Prosthetics (ANSOP): serves as a national and non-political coordinating, correlating and advisory body on prosthetics, orthotics, wheelchairs, rehabilitation engineering and other matters related to the neuromuscular and skeletal system in close collaboration with other national and international bodies, offering appropriate guidance and advice to these bodies to avoid unwitting duplication of efforts and to encourage maximum use of resources.

International Society for Prosthetics & Orthotics (ISPO): a global, multidisciplinary, non-governmental organization aiming to improve the quality of life for persons who may benefit from prosthetic, orthotic, mobility and assistive devices.

ISPO provides an effective platform for the exchange and communication on all aspects of the science, practice, and education associated with the provision of prosthetic and orthotic care, rehabilitation engineering, and related areas.

NITO Ortopedi: the national professional body for certified orthotist/prosthetists in Norway. It is a part of the larger organisation NITO which is a union-organisation representing Engineers of all specialities throughout Norway. The purpose of NITO Ortopedi is to uphold the standards of practice for CPO’s in Norway, and to make our profession visible for healthcare workers and people who need our services. NITO Ortopedi is also working politically to secure our profession in a multidisciplinary team, as well as to make sure the population will have equal access to our healthcare-services on a national level.

Hong Kong Society of Certified Prosthetist-Orthotists: the professional association representing the prosthetics and orthotics practitioners in Hong Kong, upholding high standard of patient care via continual professional development, code of practice and certification.

American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA): a trusted partner, advocating for and serving the orthotic and prosthetic community, AOPA fosters relationships with decision makers, provides education, supports research, and advances equality to strengthen the orthotic and prosthetic profession and improve the lives of its patients.

Board of Certification/ Accreditation (BOC): founded in 1984, the BOC offers highly valued credentials in the fields of orthotics and prosthetics (O&P) and durable medical equipment (DME). BOC offers accreditation for O&P practices, pharmacies and DME suppliers and certifications for orthotic fitters, mastectomy fitters and DME specialists. Learn more at www.bocusa.org.

National Association of Orthopaedic Technologists of Kenya (NAOTK): the professional body for Prosthetists, Orthotists and Orthopaedic Technologists whose aim is to promote, develop, safeguard and represent the interests of those working in the industry in Kenya and abroad.

Ikatan Ortotis Prostetis Indonesia: was established in 1980 as a unifying, guiding and empowering body for orthotists and prosthetists in Indonesia. Now overseeing more than 700 professionals, IOPI also promotes the enhancement of the roles of orthotists and prosthetists, including their involvement in the development of the healthcare sector, particularly in the provision of orthoses, prostheses, and mobility aids.

Irish Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists: The formation of this association is to promote the vital role which these two professions have within clinical teams such as Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation. Our mission is to raise the professional profile of Prosthetists & Orthotists in Ireland. Our objective is to gain professional recognition & representation with the relevant regulatory bodies & the government.
